In the race to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta, the frontrunners are current Deputy President William Ruto and former President Minister Raila Odinga. The latter has the backing of the executive branch and was backed by the President.
Among its many duties during the transition phase will be organizing the official swearing-in ceremony and providing intelligence briefings to the public. It's worth noting that the top brass of the Assumption of the Office of the President Committee doesn't agree with VP Ruto on something.
The group is responsible for arranging briefings on national security issues with the military and the National Intelligence Service for the incoming president. As soon as the IEBC releases the results, the committee must begin transition planning by the law.
However, there are many unanswered questions about whether or not influential people would give Dp. Ruto their power. This is because the deputy president and these folks do not see eye to eye on anything. They support Raila Odinga primarily. Some of the committee members are listed below.
