The Mombasa Nairobi Standard Gauge Railway is a standard gauge railway in Kenya that connects the large Indian Ocean city of Mombasa with Nairobi, the country's capital and largest city. This SGR runs parallel to the narrow gauge Uganda Railway that was completed under British colonial rule.
One of the biggest infrastructure projects to be carried out in Kenya, the standard gauge railway SGR line supports passenger and cargo transportation. Since its completion it has been occupied. Which tells you that local tourism has really improved.
2. Nairobi Expressway
The Nairobi Expressway Project is a 27.1KM road project begging from Mlolongo through JKIA. And Nairobi's CBD to Westland's area along Waiyaki Way. The Expressway will cut travel time from Rironi to JKIA from three hours to just 20 minutes.
The parent firm of China Road and Bridge Corporation CRBC, which is funding and building the highway, revealed in regulatory filings that the project's contract value is Sh72. 8 billion.
3. Likoni Floating Bridge
Kenya has recently launched a 1.2-kilometer floating bridge across the Likoni Channel, which serves as a gateway for Mombasa Port.
The middle part of the bridge is movable to accommodate ships moving in and out of the channel. Officials say about 20000 people use the Likoni floating bridge daily.
