"Nairobi Expressway is Useless" William Ruto's Ally Now Claims

Tharaka Nithi senator Kithure Kindiki has once again come out strongly to criticize President Uhuru Kenyatta and his legacy project The Nairobi Express Way. Taking to his Facebook page Kindiki said the project was useless and the billions spent on it would have been directed elsewhere.

"The 27 km Nairobi expressway which was costed at Sh 16b at the end of the Kibaki regime has ended up gobbling Sh 87b. The project has given corruption a new magnitude. From an economic standpoint, it’s a useless trickle-down vanity project," Kindiki said.

Kindiki said the quotation of the expressway was hiked from the earlier 16billion to 87billion. He claimed that the money would have been given to agricultural production to help the poor in society. Campaigning for their Kenya Kwanza call of uplifting the poor, he said that with that millions of Kenyans would have been pulled out of poverty.

"If Sh 87b was to pumped in agricultural production & value addition, millions of Kenyans could be permanently pulled out of poverty in under 3 years, and GDP growth could easily approach 10%," He added.

Their team has been vocally calling out projects by the President after being kicked out of the table, they, however, take credit sometimes for other projects.
