The battle to succeed Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong is continuing to gain momentum with Nambale MP Sakwa Bunyasi see as one of the front runners for the position.
With the crucial Teso voting bloc most likely going to determine Ojaamong's successor, both Dr Otuoma and Bunyasi have picked running mates from the region, where Ojaamong hails.
In former Teso North MP Arthur Odera, Dr Otuoma has a formidable running mate who can easily deliver him the region's votes.
On his part, Bunyasi has picked Angurai North MCA Lawrence Okaal as his deputy as his running mate. Somehow, this choice may not be enough to deliver him the region's votes.
Considering that the region is painted orange, it will be a monumental task for Bunyasi to turn the tide against the ODM candidate, Dr Otuoma.
With his Kenya Kwanza coalition affiliation, Bunyasi has a tough task ahead. Can he survive the Azimio la Umoja wave that is sweeping across the region?
