RIP: Mombasa County Governor Hassan Joho, Ainabkoi Constituency MP William Chepkut in Mourning

23 people were on Saturday 4th December 2021 killed after the bus they were travelling in plunged into River Enziu in Mwingi.

Witnesses say 14 people who were in the bus that was ferrying church members to a wedding in Mwingi were rescued from the sinking bus.

Mombasa County Governor Hassan Joho has joined in mourning over the death of the 23, sending his condolence message to the families affected by the accident.

Joho has sent his condolences to the people of Kitui County stating that it is a sombre day in the country as the nation is engulfed by sadness over the loss of precious lives.

"I extend my heartfelt condolences to the people of Kitui County over the tragic bus incident that led to the death of over 20 people. It is indeed a somber day as the nation is engulfed by sadness over the loss of precious lives.We pray to the Almighty Allah SWT to assuage your grief and rest their souls in eternal peace. Amin. Inna Lillahi Waina Ileyhi Rajiu'un," Governor Hassan Joho said.

Ainabkoi Constituency MP Hon William Chepkut has also joined in mourning the 23, sending his condolence message to the bereaved families.

"My thoughts and condolences to families, friends, relatives and the Catholic Church for the loss of loved ones in the Mwingi bus tragedy this afternoon. RIP!" Ainabkoi MP William Chepkut said.
