I Sense Rigging: Bahati Cries Foul In The Mathare Parliamentary Race

Renowned gospel musician Bahati turned pol has come out to cry fowl in the Mathare parliamentary race citing that he senses plans of rigging the election. The singer-turned-politician took to his social media pages where he claimed that he had won the elections. According to Bahati, he had been waiting to be declared the Member of parliament elect, adding that there was an unnecessary delay by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

Bahati went ahead to make serious allegations where he claimed that 21 ballot boxes had been tampered with since the conclusion of the voting process. He went ahead to demand answers on the delay.

"DEAR I.E.B.C We Need Answers!!! Everything is at Stand Still at The St. Teresa's Tallying Centre and We can Sense Rigging Plans... TELL US WHAT'S HAPPENING," Bahati stated.

"3 Days Since Voting Happened. 21 BALLOT BOXES TAMPERED WITH. I have Been Waiting to be Declared The Winner and to be Handed Over The Official Certificate as the MATHARE MP ELECT!" he added.

Bahati is vying for the Mathare constituency parliamentary seat on the Jubilee party. His journey to the ball was punctuated by a lot of setbacks. His nomination was at one point recalled by the Jubilee party. The party cited that it had come to an agreement to endorse a candidate for the ODM party.

Despite the numerous setbacks Bahati stood his ground and continued with the campaigns. He is hopeful that he will take over as the next representative of the Mathare people in the parliament. The IEBC is yet to announce the winner of the Mathare parliamentary seat.
