Senator Ledama Olekina has set internet ablaze after predicting that the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine will soon be out of the market allegedly due to it's growing negative publicity worldwide with its current market price been $15 per doze.
The Narok County senator articulated that Kenyans will beg for the Sputnik V Covid-19 vaccine despite been charged at a higher cost of $35 per doze citing that Sputnik will be the vaccine of choice in the coming days.
"I predict as follows, AstraZeneca vaccines will be out of the market soon because of the negative publicity worldwide currently at $15. Sputnik V vaccine will be highly sought after-at $35 per doze. Kenyans will beg for the vaccine but it will be too late, " Sen Olekina stated through his Twitter page.
His remarks comes a few days after the government through the ministry of health banned the Importation, distribution and administration of Covid-19 vaccines by private enterprises.
Sputnik V vaccine which was been imported into the country via private entities got a huge blow following the government's directive but Health CS Mutahi Kagwe in a past press briefing assured citizens that the ministry will lias with the Russian company so that those who got the first dose of the Sputnik V Vaccine can get their second dose.
