Chakwera revealed the endearment that Malawi has to Kenya. He said that three of Malawi's cities have roads named after Mzee Jomo Kenyatta. It was a light moment for kenyans as they gave him a standing ovation in excitement. The president stressed on Kenya's significant role and good relationship with Malawi and other African countries.
Chakwera praised Kenya for being an exemplary country since the time it was struggling for independence under the leadership of its first President Mzee Jomo Kenyatta. He urged Kenyans to continue protecting their country and continent following the examples of their forefathers.
The President and his wife Monica arrived in the country on a three-day state visit. He was the guest of honor at this year's Mashujaa Day celebrations which was be held at Wang'uru Stadium in Kirinyaga County on Wednesday.
A Kenya Airways flight carrying the two arrived yesterday at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. When they arrived, they were welcomed by Defense Minister Eugene Wamalwa and ICT counterpart Joe Mucheru.
