With the next general elections only few months away, all attention has been turned to Mount Kenya region, which is endowed with millions of votes hence the attraction it has for the 2022 presidential aspirants.
While having one on one interview with Nation, Waiguru said where she comes from(Kirinyaga) many people are in UDA party.
She added that the people are to decide where they want to be and that is where she will be too
She also said that she has been fighting for women' s agenda and they have no party at the moment.
Asked if she will join UDA of DP Ruto, Waiguru said that the Central Kenya region and the Kirinyaga county, are in UDA party.
" I am listening to the ground). All politics takes place on a local level. You can be very interested in national politics and still become irrelevant if you don' t get out of your chair. In politics, the first rule, in my opinion, is to secure your seat because that is what provides you an audience. "
Our political parties aren' t truly divided by beliefs. The people will select whose side you will support in 2022. This time around, the Wanjikus want to be the ones who decide where politicians should go. Wanjikus tend to be on the UDA side where I hail from. Now I have the option of making a decision and win. "
" The Wanjikus this time round want to be the ones who decide the direction that politicians go. Where I come from, the Wanjikus are tending to be on the UDA side. Now, I can make a choice and go against the grain and I could probably win, but I would have to spend a lot more because it is going against the grain, " Waiguru said.
If Anne Waiguru joins UDA, they will battle out with Purity Ngirici, the Kirinyaga Women Representative for the UDA party nomination ticket for Kirinyaga gubernatorial seat.
