The second in command has left many Kenyans talking after he failed to show up in the important government event where he was scheduled to close the 7th Annual Devolution Conference in Makueni yesterday.
Instead, the Dp chose to drum his bottom up economic model campaigns in Nyandarua county as the event was proceeding.
However, the deputy president’s speech was read out by a representative who was described as “a respectable person in society” by his communication team.
The surprising thing is that the identity of Ruto’s representative at the conference remained concealed upto now.
According to tradition, the president was to officially open the three day Devolution Conference, and his deputy closes the convention on the last day.
This year’s Devolution Conference, which is the 7th and the last under the Jubilee administration was held at Makueni Boys’ High School in Makueni.
During the function, all 47 governors meet to review the previous year’s performances and challenges. Furthermore, they chart a way forward on how their constituents’ welfare would be improved.
