Today, Murungi met with Peter Munya, the cabinet secretary for agriculture. He later posted what they had said to him on Facebook. He was calm.
"I spoke with PNU members today, and they decided to support both my bid for reelection and Raila Odinga of the Azimio Party as the country's fifth president. Under an Azimio Government, the devolved governments would receive additional funding, which I would use to keep up my development programs and also empower women, children, and the elderly. I'll focus more on social advancement."
Murungi is seeking reelection, but it doesn't appear that he will have it easy. This is the result of the UDA party rise. Actually, if polls are to be believed, he will probably place third. In the most recent Mizani Africa opinion poll, he came in third place after Mithika Linturi of the UDA.
