Scrambled for Mt. Kenya votes among top presidential aspirants continues. Both candidates creating platforms to battle the other for successful 2022 general elections. ODM party leader Hon. Raila Odinga has been strategizing on how to succeed president Uhuru Kenyatta. He conducted meetings with Mount Kenya Foundation held at a five-star Hotel in Nairobi on 28th September 2021. The business tycoons from Mt. Kenya are set to back him up making sure he gathers many votes from the region in the coming 2022 elections. Another important meeting was with the youth professionals from Mt. Kenya on 12th October 2021 in Nairobi.
However, as the battle continues, I would like to mention Hon. Justine Muturi. In May 22, 2021, at Agikuyu Mukurwe wa Nyagathanga shrine in Murang'a County Hon. Muturi was announced as the Mt. Kenya spokesperson. The elders said they chose the speaker because of his leadership capabilities saying he will be the link between them and the president. They also clarified that Hon. Muturi was coronated as a spokesperson because he had unspoiled history and showed capacity to be the voice of the region. They said the decision was aimed at quelling political divisions being experienced in the region and ensure the communities approaches the next elections as a united front.

Further, the unity between president Kenyatta and Hon. Raila Odinga has built confidence and trust in some of the Mt. Kenya prominent people. The Mount Kenya Foundation(MKF) and the professional youths are included to support Hon. Raila in the coming elections. In my own opinion, the speaker of the national assembly Hon. Justin Muturi also has a "big" voice in support for Hon Raila. If Hon. Raila would wish to host Hon. Muturi and ask for the political support from his people I think the Kikuyu community will not fail to listen to him. The people from Mt. Kenya might also share their opinions to their spokesperson ( Hon. Muturi ) if they would support Hon. Raila or not. This might also help the ODM leader to record supporter's percentage from Mt Kenya region.
