The residents of Gichugu constituency mourns the death of Cooperative Bank founder chairman and the former Gichugu Member of Parliament, Bernard Kathanga who passed on while undergoing treatment in hospital.
Mr Kathanga died at the age of 93 years. He served as the second elected member of Parliament in Gichugu under leadership of the former president Mzee Jomo Kenyatta.
According to the family the deceased passed on Wednesday after a long battle with cancer.
Governor Ann waiguru, the governor for Kirinyaga is among the politician who mourned the death of Kathanga.
Honourable waiguru said that Kathanga has been her support and she will miss him alot.
"Mzee Kathanga has been my supporter whose great insights I will miss. My thoughts and prayers are with his entire family,friends and people of Kirinyaga," Governor Waiguru mourns
