President Uhuru Kenyatta is finishing his second term in a few months time. The country is in a political mood now and various politicians have been trying to get the attention of the President with the hope that he will support them. Then President should know that we are not in the 60s where you could swear in a president at night or even use the state resources to fund candidate. In 2007, retired President Mwai Kibaki tried that, and we almost became a failed state. Many lives were lost and thousands of people lost their properties. No sane President will ever try that again!
There is one thing that stands out about President Uhuru; his civility and the way he calculate his political moves. It takes an uncivilized person to stick to power in the 21st century and for Uhuru, he is very keen to keep his legacy intact. Uhuru Kenyatta is an ICC survivor with first hand experience on what political irresponsibility can do to a nation and to self. Trust me he does not want a second stint at the Hague where it has saw some African leaders get jailed.
President Uhuru Kenyatta is being watched by everybody including the international community and other leaders across the globe. He has a name and a legacy to jealously protect and would never want to be the first president in Kenya’s history to get stuck in office or do anything which will be seen as trying to subvert the will of the people.
Who will be supported by President Kenyatta in 2022? Leave your comment and share this article please.
