UDA presidential candidate garners a paltry 720 votes in Bondo, Raila Odinga's home

UDA presidential candidate garnered a paltry 720 votes in Bondo, Raila Odinga's home town.

The ODM Party leader Raila of Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party garnered 73,603 votes.

Agano parties presidential candidate Waihiga Mwaure and Roots Party flagbearer George Wajackoya got 22 and 94 votes, respectively.

This is according to the tallying of presidential results released by the constituency's Returning Officer Dennis Omari Obara on Wednesday night.

Millions of Kenyans are nervously awaiting the results of Tuesday’s presidential election, as day three of vote counting across the country gets underway.

Opposition leader Raila Odinga, who is backed by the outgoing president and seen as the establishment candidate, faces deputy president William Ruto, who styles himself as an outsider and a “hustler”.

The commission’s register had a total of 21,102,532 voters spread across the polling stations zoned into streams with a maximum of 700 electors.

Odinga has run a campaign centring on social protection, a revival of agriculture and manufacturing, and anti-corruption. He is backed by his former-nemesis, the outgoing president, Uhuru Kenyatta, who had a falling out with Ruto during his final term.

IEBC Chairperson Wafula Chebukati told news reporters at the National Tallying Centre at the Bomas of Kenya in Nairobi that the electoral agency would give a final turnout figure once the number of voters identified manually is verified.
