A political storm is building up in Murang’a county few months after the general elections that saw the now President William Ruto’s UDA party carry the day in Mt Kenya region.
Some MPs from Murang’a have started war of words over who is superior and who should call shots in Murang’a.
The latest is the fight between the young Woman Rep Betty Maina who has waged war on Cabinet Secretary for Water, Sanitation and Irrigation Alice Muthoni Wahome.

Betty, a first time politician who was a footsoldier of former Murang’a Women rep Sabina Chege turned 35 years few days ago but she is positioning herself as the mots powerful female leader in the county.
She is challenging the two-time Kandara MP Alice who was appointed CS by Ruto. Alice will turn 64 years in April.
Speaking to media (Video below) after Kandara by-election last week, Betty insulted Alice saying she is old and should know it is time for the young leaders like her to take control of Murang’a politics.
