Provisional Presidential Results As At 11:30 PM Shows A Tight Race Between Raila And Ruto

Today, August 11, 2022 marks the second day since Kenyans exercised their right to democratic suffrage by choosing their favorite leaders. The process begins and ends on Tuesday the 9th and the counting of votes has begun. 

According to the Commission on Boundaries and Independent Elections, presidential votes are still counted and summarized at vote counting centers before the final results are announced. 

At 11:30 PM, the interim presidential results update showed stiff competition between the two leading candidates Raila Odinga and Dp William Ruto. However, presidential candidate Azimio la Umoja Raila Odinga took the lead, followed by United Democratic Alliance head Dp William Ruto. George Wajackoyah of the Roots Party took third place while David Waihiga of the Agano Party ran for the election.  

According to the results at 11:30PM, the total number of votes counted was votes. Ruto led with 6,217,167 votes, followed by Raila with 6,781,456 votes. Wajackoyah got 08 votes while Waihiga got 22,993 votes.
