'I will Challenge Wanga's Win In Court' Kidero Claims There Was Rigging In The Governor Seat Race

Earlier today, Gladys Wanga was announced Nyanza governor elect by Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) after dusting Evans Kidero. Gladys Wanga won the seat on a ODM party ticket ganering 244,049 votes ahead of Nairobi former governor Evans Kidero. Kidero attained 152,182 votes which he claimed was rigged.

According to IEBC Wanga led in seven out of eight counties with Evans Kidero only leading in Homa Bay with a margin of 2,000 votes.

Evans Kidero speaking to the media alleged that he didn't recognize Gladys Wanga's lead claiming it to be 'illegitimate'. He said that he will go ahead in court to challenge the governor elect's win.

Evans Kidero speaking to the media concerning the Homa Bay race said, "There was a lot of violence during the campaigns and malpractices during the election, we will take necessary steps to make sure there is redress on the violation of election rules."
