Agriculture CS Peter Munya was forced to react after shouts from an overwhelmed crowd threatened to disrupt his speech at Makutano, Meru County. Mr. Munya and Azimio One Kenya Coalition presidential Running Mate Martha Karua were leading the campaigns to drum support for Azimio candidate Raila Odinga in the region when this happened.
The Azimio leaders received a warm welcome at the Makutano area with shouts of "Baba, Baba" from the crowd renting the air as they showed love and support to the Azimio wing.
The Agriculture CS was the one who made the first speech at Makutano as he introduced several leaders who had accompanied them to the area.
It was during this time of introduction that CS Munya had to pause his speech twice to deal with an overwhelmed crowd that kept shouting as he asked them to remain quiet so that everyone could listen to what he was saying.
Munya told the crowd that the Azimio fraternity had decided that Hon. Martha Karua (the Running Mate) and him (who was promised Agriculture CS and Trade Chairman by Azimio flag bearer Raila Odinga), will lead the Azimio team in drumming support for the team in Mt Kenya region.
He said that the fact that he was promised the position is a great show that Meru County will be well represented in the Azimio One Kenya Coalition if they form the next government. It was after this remarks that he was heard asking the crowd to keep quiet.
"Tuwache kelele kidogo, tusikilizane (Let's stop the noise, let's be in agreement)," Munya Told the shouting crowd (Between 2:35 to 3 minutes of the video).
As as the was noise persistent, Munya told the crowd that Azimio is an organised Coalition and such noise were unnecessary.
"Kelele wacha wewe bwana, tafadhali. Kimya ndio tuweze kuzungumza. Sisi watu wa Azimio ni watu wa order na discipline (You Stop the noise please. Be quiet so that we can speak. We I Azimio are orderly and disciplined)," he said (from 3:50 to 4 minutes).
