At one point during the wee hours, Gachagua was granted an opportunity to address the huge crowd that had gathered. Gachagua was quick to fault the area Governor, Kiraitu Murungi for joining Azimio La Umoja. Gachagua requested the residents that the biggest favor they could do to him is to send Kiraitu Murungi together with Raila Odinga who will be the Azimio presidential flag bearer
"Kiraitu Murungi alienda Azimio La Umoja na Bus Party yake lakini najua hamkuenda na yeye huko. Si mumeamua pia Governor mtachagua wa bottom up Mithika Linturi? Nataka mrudishe ODM, Jubilee na Kiraitu Murungi nyumbani ikifika August," Rigathi Gachagua has pleaded with the area residents
