Bobi Wine Temporarily Appoints MP Nambeshe As National Unity Party Acting Party President

Opposition chief Whip John Baptist Nambeshe has been appointed acting President for the National Unity Platform as his boss Bobi Wine flew out of the country for 21 days.

The outspoken legislator will run the National Unity party for 21 days from June 20th-July 10th 2021 as Party President, Hon. Kyagulanyi will be out of the country on party official duties.

The 39-year-old Bobi Wine has had a phenomenal life unlike many in the world. Born in Uganda, a small country sandwiched between Kenya and Congo in East Africa, Bobi Wine aka Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu grew.

His Secretary Sarah Muwonge wrote to Nambeshe on Sunday June 20, 2021 notifying him of the appointment.

“This is to inform you that party president has asked me to notify you that he has designated you as acting President for three weeks from July 20 to July 10 while he is out of the country for official duties,” Muwonge wrote in a non-precedence move, according to NUP supporters intended to set an example for President Museveni.

Nambeshe while taking to his Twitter handle, he wholeheartedly accepted the responsibility.

The vocal MP joined National Unity Party in 2020 from the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM). Nambeshe is the Deputy President of NUP in the Eastern region.
