Francis Atwoli, the secretary general for the Central Organization of Trade Unions has come out to dismiss claims made by one person that he had left the country once he was informed that Raila was losing the presidential election. Taking to his Twitter page on Friday, Atwoli said that the photo shared alleging he was in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia was an old photo from a previous visit.
He said that the photo is from 5 years ago and maintained that he is still within the country and closely following on the presidential results.
"Somebody using my old photo while arriving in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, five years ago. Shenzi sana! Atwoli said.
The photo was shared by Davis Chirchir on Facebook after reports emerged that Raila had been defeated. The allegations came a few hours after another person alleged that Atwoli had blocked media houses from broadcasting the results of the presidential on Friday. This allegations were also dismissed by Atwoli who said that he has no such authority against media houses.
