Education CS George Magoha is on many people's lips today because of his Announcement on school re-opening that has split opinion. On one side there are those most of whom are parents who have condemned his decision coming at a time when many of them are jobless.
However, there are some who totally agree with him arguing that it will be more dangerous to continue having students away from school given the rising cases of juvenile delinquency.
Having said that, who is this Magoha that is in charge of a critical docket in Uhuru's gorvenment?
According to mpasho, Professor Magoha was born in kisumu in 1952 but moved to Nairobi at a tender age. He went to Dr Livingston Primary School in Nairobi before attending Starehe boys centre. For his high school diploma, he went to Strathmore after which he received a scholarship to study medicine in the University of Lagos Nigeria.
While there, he got the love of his life Barbara Odudu Magoha who was also pursuing medicine like him . They walked down the isle in 1982 in a simple ceremony to mark the beginning of a life together as husband and wife.
They got their first born son Michael Magoha who is also a medical doctor like his parents. Mrs Magoha works at Kenyatta national hospital as a consultant obstetrician besides lecturing at the University of Nairobi.

Salary and Networth
As a cabinet Secretary Professor Magoha is entitled to a consolidated pay of ksh 924,000 as set by salaries and Remuneration Commission.
His networth is in the range of ksh 250 Million according to the records presented before parliament during vetting as a requirement for all vetteable state officers.
He has Invested in real estate, treasury bills and fixed cash deposits. Having served as doctor and vice Chancellor Nairobi University, he has accumulated a substantial amount of wealth.
