Kenyans have been worried of what the president would say concerning the covid-19 measures in his today's address. As at now, many are left in stiches following what the president has said concerning the covid-19 measures that he has enacted today.
According to the address that was Live in the Facebook pages of different media groups such as Citizen TV, the president has announced the following;
All schools including universities and tertiary institutions, within the counties of Nairobi, Machakos, Nakuru, Kajiado and Kiambu to suspend all physical learning with immediate effect till further communication except those with candidates going on with their exams.
The president has ordered the closure of transport into and out of the counties of Nairobi, Kiambu, Kajiado, Machakos and Nakuru. This is for the air, road and rail transport which is to take effect starting the midnight of 27th March, 2020.
It was also announced that worship activities to be suspended in the mentioned counties above till further notice and for the rest of the country, to maintain numbers not more than 50 people per service.
The president also requested the government agencies and private companies to allow their employees to work from home. This will also help in reducing the high numbers of Covid-19 positive cases recorded daily.
On the dusk down curfew, the president has announced that counties of Nairobi, Kiambu, Machakos, Nakuru and Kajiado will have the curfew hours starting from 8pm to 4am till further communication. The rest of the country, the curfew hours will remain as it has been, that is from 10pm to 4am.
All this comes after a huge rise in the numbers of positive cases reported daily in the country for the past few weeks. According to the report given by the president today, he stated that the positivity rate now stands at 22%. This is ten times increase compared to January when the positivity rate was at only 2%.
