His walk was inspired by life-changing intervention by doctors at Kijabe Hospital who helped him when he had a bad accident on his way to Kabarak, Nakuru County. He was attending retired President Daniel Moi's funeral before getting into an accident Nairobi-Nakuru highway early in the morning.
According to Channel 54 News, the vocal politician was able to raise Ksh.10million for charity work. Previously he had hit Ksh.9million and was short of reaching the target of fourteen million that he had set.
In the charity walk, he was accompanied by High profile individuals in the country that included Kirinyaga County Governor Anne Waiguru, who did 10 kilometres before retiring. Others who were present are Sports CS Amina Mohamed and Interior and Coordination Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho.
