The current representative for the Ugunja constituency is Opiyo Wandenyi. During the just finished Jamuhuri Day festivities, he received the order of the golden heart. As soon as he entered college, the Mp began to pursue his political aspirations. He is one of the Azimio-one Kenya alliance's most ardent supporters. 
He is described as being quite private as well. He once gained notoriety after receiving a one-year suspension from the House of Representatives. Since he was re-elected in the most recent elections in August, the Mp has also held this office for a third time.
Many Kenyans were completely unprepared for the order of the golden heart to be awarded to this MP. This is as a result of Wandenyi being an ODM Affiliated Mp. President Ruto's conduct demonstrates his willingness to bring Kenyans from various political zones together.
