United Democratic Alliance Presidential Candidate Dr. William Samoei Ruto is leading in the latest opinion polls conducted by the Radio Africa group. The Kenya Kwanza coalition presidential candidate is ahead of his Azimio la Umoja opponent by a slight margin. According to the poll, Ruto is leading by 43.3 percent.
On the other hand, the Orange Democratic Movement party leader and Azimio la Umoja's presidential candidate Raila Amolo Odinga is trailing the Kenya Kwanza presidential candidate by a lesser margin. Mr. Odinga is currently having 42. 4 percent.
The duo's popularity changed when they picked their preferred running mate from the Mt Kenya region. It is clear that the two running mates made an impact on the popularity of the two candidates.
Earlier opinion polls by Infrotrak placed the former prime minister ahead of DP Ruto. Raila Odinga had reduced his margin but neither of the two gained more than 50 percent.
According to the Radio Africa polls, there will be no winner should the election be held today. The winner is supposed to gain more than 50 percent of the total votes. All attention will now focus on the two presidential candidates as election day gets near.
