President Uhuru Kenyatta has found himself in a tight corner during his second term following his fallout with his deputy, William Samoei Ruto, where the rate at which members of parliament, senators, and other political leaders are decamping from him is alarming.
Currently, the Kiambaa by election has been ongoing since morning and it has been termed as a do or die for the Jubilee party and therefore, if the UDA party candidate emerges the winner, this will be a great warning to President Uhuru Kenyatta Hence, all available machineries have been dispatched in the various regions to observe and encourage residents to vote for Njama.
President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM Leader Raila Odinga will have to go back to the drawing board either to accept to work with the Deputy President otherwise they might also lose in the 2022 general election. Raila Odinga will therefore have to put his concetration on the Western region, Nyanza and Coastal region.
It will also be a great setback for Raila Odinga if he continues to depend on president Uhuru's support votes from the Mt Kenya region if they lose to UDA in Kiambaa. Since it's now clear that Uhuru'sinfluencel is diminished as the days unfold and before heading to the elections, he might be completely out of control of the region.
