President William Ruto is expected to commence his two-day tour in Nyanza Region today, and leaders across the political divide from the region, and especially those aligned towards the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance have announced they will be welcoming the president.
Ruto will be touring the region for his first official tour, although last year he was in Homa Bay county for a thanksgiving service after he won the August 9th polls.
As early as 11am, Former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero and Former Homa Bay Governor Cyprian Awiti were among a section of leaders who had arrived at Tom Mboya University in Homa Bay Town, Homa Bay county ahead of the president's arrival.
The Homa Bay governor Gladys Wanga, and the Homa Bay Town MP George Kaluma said that they will be there to welcome the president, further imploring upon the residents to come out in large numbers and give the Head of State an heroic reception.
In his brief meeting yesterday at Kisumu State House, State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohamed revealed that Ruto will be touring Kisumu, Homa Bay and Siaya counties in his two-day visit, which will be aimed at commissioning and launching different projects and also interacting with the residents and leaders.
