Hillary Mutyambai's Replacement as Inspector General of Police Fronted

The chief of state has presented the members of his cabinet, who will assist him in governing the nation for the subsequent five years.

A number of significant appointments have also been made by Dr. Ruto, including the appointment of Justin Muturi, a former speaker of the National Assembly, to the position of attorney general, taking over for Kihara.

Engineer Japheth Koome has been given the role of Inspector General of Police in the newly formed police force.

Dr. William Ruto has put forth the name of Eng. Japheth Koome Nchebere for consideration for the job of Inspector General of Police. This is to fill the vacancy left by Inspector Hillary Mutyambai, who is going on terminal leave.

Mr. Koome served as the Commandant of the National Police Service College in Kiganjo before being promoted from his previous position as the Commander of the Nairobi County Police.

President Dr. William Ruto made the announcement this evening at State House when announcing his Cabinet. He said that Mutyambai had asked to continue on terminal leave owing to his deteriorating health.

In addition, the president has said unequivocally that other selections would be made in the days to come.
