The president of the republic of Kenya William Samoei Ruto has nominated Raymond omollo to the position of principal secretary interior and national government administration.

The nominee will have to hold his fingers crossed as he waits to appear before a committee of Parliament for vetting.

If approved, he will be appointed and sworn in to work together with professor kithure Kindiki to deliver on the Kenya kwanza mandate of transforming the internal security sector.

The close association between Raymond and the head of state didn't start yesterday as he is so trusted to the extent that Ruto almost sent him money to represent him in a harambee in a Homabay church before he changed his mind and came there personally.

During the visit, Raymond led the delegation that received the president in an area perceived to be Raila Odinga's stronghold.

A look at the early life of the president and Raymond Reveals that they share a lot in common that made it easy for them to get along.

One, they both come from humble backgrounds.

During an interview with the star, Raymond Revealed how he struggled to go to school after the death of his father who was then a civil servant and sole bread winner.

He narrated how he only survived on potatoes and water for the three days when he was doing his KCPE exams.

"When I was sitting for KCPE, I survived on potatoes and water for three days", omollo told the star.

Ruto on the hand could go to school barefoot among many other hardships he went through Before becoming the president.

Two, they are both Thirsty for knowledge in and higher education.

Whereas the president holds a PhD in plant ecology from Nairobi university, Raymond holds a PhD in applied statistics.
