President Ruto is scheduled to visit Homa Bay county on Sunday and will be expected to attend a church service there. This will be the first time that president Ruto is making such a visit since he was inaugurated as the fifth president, more than two weeks ago.
The area governor —Gladys Wanga has, however, revealed that she would miss an event where the head of state will e the chief guest.
In a Facebook post, the Homa Bay governor said that she will be occupied elsewhere at the time William Ruto is scheduled to visit her county, and hence will not be there physically to welcome him. She, however, noted that the head of state is welcome in his in her county.
Homa Bay county is among the counties which were considered Raila Odinga's strongholds as evidenced by the outcome of the general election held on August 09th.
The governor noted that she had communicated about her absence to the head of state.
"...I am however out of the county on official duty and will therefore be unable to join HE for the church service and have communicated the same to His Excellency." — Gladys Wanga.
Homa Bay county's boss indicated that currently, she's in Mombasa.
