Murang'a: Raila Ally Alleges Gachagua, Kenya Kwanza MPs Want Anti-Ruto County Commissioners Fired

Former prime minister Raila Odinga's ally in Murang'a county Pius Kinuthia has now alleged that deputy president Rigathi Gachagua and Kenya Kwanza Members of Parliament want county commissioners who were against president Dr William Ruto during 2022 general election to be fired.

In a tweet on Tuesday morning, Kinuthia noted that Gachagua and the ruling coalition lawmakers held a Parliamentary Group meeting on Monday and, their resolve was to ensure that they sack the aforementioned commissioners, now that Ruto has won the presidency.

He scoffed at the DP and the lawmakers by claiming that revenge mission was their immediate goal within hundred days since they took over power, following the conclusion the of 2022 general election.

"During the Kenya Kwanza PG meeting yesterday which was chaired by DP Gachagua, they resolved To FIRE any County Commissioner or chief that opposed Ruto during campaigns. That is their priority in their first 100 days in office," said Kinuthia.

This comes a day after Gachagua hold a Parliamentary Group meeting with Kenya Kwanza MPs where, they deliberated on issues that concern the relationship between Executive and the Legislature.

National Assembly lawmakers, Women Representatives and Senators of the ruling alliance parties among them United Democratic Alliance (UDA), FORD-Kenya, Amani National Congress (ANC), Pamoja African Alliance (PAA), Democratic Party (DP), Maendeleo Chap Chap (MCC) and others attended.

This happens as Ruto kick-starts his first term in office, in earnest by implementing his bottom-up socio-economic transformation agenda that he promised during the campaigns in the run up to August general election.
