Incumbent Kapsoit Member of County Assembly (MCA) Hon. Paul Chirchir alias 'Tarimbo' will be seeking for a second successive term in office when the polls open next year.
The Kapsoit Ward Legislator has notably been on the forefront on matters basics first, and has gone to be one of the people's favourite.
During the incumbent's term in office, Kapsoit Ward residents have been granted access to clean tap water. This follows a series of projects that have been convened in the area in conjunction with the County Government of Kericho. Chirchir recently commissioned a water project that seeks to irrigate the entire Kapsoit Town.
Through the last-mile projects initiated by the Rural Electrification Authority (REA), several homesteads in the Kericho West part now have access to cheap electricity.
Apart from his steadfast leadership, Paul Chirchir was among the leaders in Kericho County to rubbish the recent reforms in some tea firms. He further dismissed the idea by James Finlay Kericho to replace the cheaply obtained human labour with tea picking machines. This has since rendered several hundreds jobless.
Hon. Paul Chirchir will be expected to clash with other hopefuls in a bid to retain his seat next year.
