Former Director of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti has finally broken his silence several weeks after being sacked by President William Ruto.
Before and after he left office, Mr Kinoti was accused of targeting several leaders affiliated to President William Ruto and his Kenya Kwanza camp affiliates during the tenure of ex-president Uhuru Kenyatta. Fingers were also pointed to the former crime buster for allegedly being in charge when a slate of several extrajudicial killings were happening.
In a recent admission, President Ruto had confirmed that he fired Kinoti over the aforementioned accusations. Kinoti's sacking came only days after President Ruto was handed the leadership mantle from Uhuru Kenyatta.
In a statement, Kinoti said his life after being sacked has been very good in spite of the sharp claims being directed to him. Daily Nation has learnt that Kinoti is very much aware that he could be a marked man by the Kenya Kwanza government, he refused to comment about occurrences that led to him losing the lucrative and influential job.
