Ruto Meets The Mt Kenya Council Of Elders

The Dp William Ruto today met with the National Council leadership of Mt Kenya. "Elders must take the lead to preach unity and end ethnicity in our country. They must mentor the youth to be responsible leaders, moderate our politics to be less confrontational but more issue-based and encourage the establishment of national rather than tribal political parties. That way, we stand to have a meaningful development that will make Kenya more peaceful.

Met the leadership of the National Council of Elders headed by its patron Captain Kung’u Muigai, chairman Phares Rutere and the Nationhood Sector Principal Administrative Secretary Michael Ndung’u, Karen, Nairobi County."

This comes barely two weeks after some the Mt Kenya elders, specially The Agikuyu elders visited Raila Odinga at his fathers home Kang'o Ka Jaramogi.

However, some leaders especially Muigai, the patron and secretary general, distanced themselves from the visit claiming that those visited Raila are not elders and do not represent elders from Agukuyu community.
