Kiraitu Murungi, governor of Meru, is a key figure in Raila Odinga's presidential campaign in the Mount Kenya region.He is one of those campaigning for Raila Odinga's bid.
Murungi was once a staunch supporter of Deputy President William Ruto,but now he will running for re-election as governor of Meru under the banner of Devolution Empowerment Party, which is under Azimio.
And now Murungi has described William Ruto, as warm and friendly person. He also said he was a big supporter of DP Ruto but at the moment, their political ideas are different.
"Yes, I was a great Ruto supporter; but, there is no criminal in political change, and I am not embarrassed that Ruto's politics and mine are different,"governor Murungi said.
"Even if Ruto is a genuinely good person,I am convinced that Mount Kenya is in safe hands with Raila as next President," added.
He also said that he will continue campaigning for Raila Odinga.
