Ministry of defence cabinet secretary Hon Aden Duale says that Garissa constituency residents have said a big 'no' during the recent campaigns to elect a new member of the national assembly.
According to Duale, the residents have said no to ethnic and local political parties and politics of division during the by-election that was held today to pick who will replace him in the national assembly.
According to Duale, Rtd major Mohamed Barrow has allegedly won the Garissa constituency by-election and defeated all the other candidates who were competing with him.
He added that the supposedly elected lawmaker will now make sure that the united democratic alliance (UDA) is the majority party in the national assembly.

"We have another new member of the national assembly, making us the majority party in the national Assembly. Thank you the people of Garissa Township for the seamless transition and an end to clan politics. Now, wheel the barrow!" part of his message stated.
