Kenyans will be heading to the polls this coming Tuesday with the expectation that those politicians who have been performing will be rewarded while those who have not be doing well will be sent home. However, some second-term Governors who are not contesting for any seat are expected to get some position in the next government if their coalition wins.
With only a few days to go some Governors are taking stock of their achievements so far. Today, Makueni County Governor Kivutha Kibwana visited one of the mango factories in his county. Makueni and the Lower Eastern region in general is known for its succulent mangoes which are also very sweet. This is because of the high temperatures during the day and cool temperatures at night. This difference in temperatures increases the sugar content in the fruits.
Governor Kibwana gave an update of the visit on his social media page. The update read, "I'm delighted to witness finalization of the ready-to-drink juice line at the Makueni Fruit Processing Plant. We have now moved a notch higher from production of mango puree only to the production of mango juice and purified water "
According to Kibwana, the plant has a capacity to produce 64,000 bottles of juice of varying sizes. The only matter which is pending is the quality certifications and the product will be in retail stores across the country.
Kibwana's achievement was seen by lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi a staunch supporter of Kenya Kwanza's Deputy President William Ruto. Ahmednasir praised the governor and said he will be considered if Kenya Kwanza wins in a tweet that read, "We must have Prof. Kibwana in the next government. InshaAllah."
Kibwana is one of the best governors and has really transformed Makueni county.
