The 4th President of the Republic of Kenya and the Cammander - in - Chief Defence Forces, His Excellency Uhuru Mugai Kenyatta has been out of the Country for a week now. The first in command has had an eventful week abroad and is yet to return home.
According to reports from Presidential Strategic Communications Unit (PSCU), His Excellency Uhuru Kenyatta who arrived in United States on Sunday, 10th October, is set to chair a United Nations Security Council (UNSC) high - level open debate on diversity, state building and peace.
Ambassador Martin Kimani stated that Kenya's overriding agenda at the UN security council is to offer ideas and solutions to global peace and security in areas such as the Horn of Africa and the troubled Sahel region.
In the meeting with Mr Guteress, the President and the UN boss are expected to discuss several subjects of mutual interest to Kenya and the UN among them the global response to Covid-19 pandemic.
He also handed over the chairmanship of United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) to prime Minister of Barbados during the 15th session of UNCTAD that took place in Bridgetown.
