The proclamation and declaration of Deputy President William Ruto as the president-elect has triggered the transition committee's duties, according to Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua, who also serves as the head of the Assumption of Office of the President Committee.
According to Kinyua, "the announcement of the presidential election results initiates other constitutional procedures for the transition moving ahead."
In addition, Kinyua praised Kenyans for their peaceful behavior and exceptional level of patience while they awaited the announcement of the presidential election results.
He also praised security forces for upholding law and order in areas where there had been violence following the announcement of the presidential results.
The head of the public service gave additional assurances of security to Kenyans, businesspeople, and visitors to the nation.
"I'm happy to certify that our country is still secure and at peace. All Kenyans deserve praise for having a strong sense of civic responsibility and for their incredible patience while we awaited the announcement of the presidential election results. We also thank the National Police Service and other security organizations for their outstanding work in upholding law and order "added he.
