"Please Don't Interfere With Tran-Nzoia Gubernatorial Race" UDA Aspirant Pleads With Dp Ruto

William Ruto, the Deputy President and leader of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), has been asked not to interfere in the Trans Nzoia gubernatorial election.

Philemon Samoei, who is running for Governor of Trans Nzoia under the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), said there is no formal agreement between UDA and FORD Kenya on the Trans Nzoia gubernatorial contest in an exclusive interview with People Daily Digital.

Despite this, Samoei stated that UDA and FORD Kenya had equal rights to field candidates in Kenya Kwanza Alliance.

"As far as I'm concerned, the UDA national leadership has not reached any agreement with FORD Kenya, whether it's on zoning or joint nominations. My party could not have cleared me to run through UDA if such was the case; I had spent half a million shillings for nominations "Samoei remarked.

Ruto was asked by the ambitious aspirant to focus on national politics and leave Trans Nzoia politics to the people of Trans Nzoia to exercise their democratic rights.

"We will vote for DP to the last man in Trans Nzoia, so DP need not be concerned about his votes. All we ask is for him to leave us alone when it comes to local politics "He made an appeal.

He further said that putting leaders on electorates jeopardizes internal party democracy and threatened terrible consequences if their demands were not granted.

"If our democratic party does not respond to our request, we are prepared to withdraw and run on an independent ticket," he said.

He also slammed Kiminini Member of Parliament Chris Wamalwa, who is vying for Trans Nzoia governorship with FORD Kenya, calling the claim that the Kalenjin community has approved his gubernatorial ambition "fake."

"It is incorrect to claim that the Kalenjin community in Trans Nzoia County has approved my brother Chris Wamalwa. "What happened was a PR stunt orchestrated by Chepsiro ward MCA Kipchumba Birir and a few power brokers with vested interests," he explained

He warned all contenders for all elective positions to be wary of power brokers who are out to deceive them.

"Our community's leaders are solely endorsed by respected elders, not by busybodies and brokers." As a result, politicians should be cautious about who they seek blessings from," Samoei cautioned.

This comes only a week before a series of political rallies in Trans Nzoia County by the Kenya Kwanza Alliance brigade.
