Mutua makes a statement over his parliamentary candidature in the August 9 elections

Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua has downplayed the reports that have been going round that he has fielded his Candidature for the Mwala parliamentary seat in the forthcoming august 9 elections.

This follows several publications that have shown that the outgoing Machakos Governor was interested in the seat that is currently held by the Hon. Vincent Musyoka popularly known as Kawaya, who is also the UDA Party Candidate in the forthcoming august 9 polls.

After quitting the Azimio la Umoja outfit, Mutua has been making several campaign rallies in the county of Machakos as well as other area leaders including the Gubernatorial hopel Johnstone Muthama who is vying on the UDA Party ticket led by William Ruto.

The Governor has now made it clear that he will not vie for any political seat in the August polls.

"For avoidance of doubt, I want to clarify that at this particular time, I am not running for any elective position in the forthcoming Elections. I am concentrating on campaigning for the Kenya kwanza coalition so that Kenya can get a new system where dreams can come true," he tweeted.

He added that he will be just campaigning for the DP William Ruto.
