Nyeri Governor Finally Speaks Days After His Controversial Statement to ODM Boss Raila Odinga

Nyeri county governor, Mutahi Kahiga has finally breaks his silence following the controversial remarks he made during the former prime minister Raila Odinga's Azimio la Umoja convention in Nyeri county.

Speaking to K24 television this evening, the Nyeri county boss has maintained that he did not lecture the former premier as people think adding that he has no mandate to that .

He also added that whatever he was doing was issuing the expectations of Nyeri county residents so that as a presidential candidate, the ODM boss could explain to them how they will benefit if they elect him as the next president of Kenya.

"We were just opening up on issues that would benefit the people of Nyeri county," the governor told K24.

Raila Odinga has been making numerous trips to Mount Kenya region in order to popularize his 2022 presidential bid as well as to outsmart the deputy president William Ruto whose influence in the region is also a threat.

The former prime minister is very sure that with the support of Mount Kenya region, he stands a better chance of winning the 2022 presidential contest.
