Jonathan Mueke broke silence before President William Ruto re- assigned him from the Ministry of Sports to Agriculture and Livestock Development in a mass shake up announced by the Head of State.
Taking to his official Twitter, in a tweet shared by James Smart, one of the NTV Kenya prolific news anchors, Mueke detailed how he lead a huge delegation to inspect the ongoing construction of Moi stadium in Meru County ahead of the Madaraka Day celebrations.
According to the former Deputy Governor, during the visit, he was accompanied by Meru Governor Cecily Mbarire, Interior and Coordination Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo and the National Celebration Committee.
The post came shortly before the Head of State on May 16 re- assigned seven Principal Secretaries as part of the re- organisation in the government. Having fired Ministry of Health PS Dr Josephine Mburu, the President appointed two new PSs in the same ministry and re- assigned Peter Kiplagat Tum.
Peter Kiplagat Tum was reassigned from the Ministry of Health to the Ministry of Sports with Mr Harry Kimtai joining the Ministry of Health as PS Medical Services, having served as Livestock PS at the Ministry of Agriculture.
In the new changes signed by the Head of Public Service Mr Felix Koskei, Ephantus Kimani has been moved to the ministry of Irrigation where he will be serving as Water PS. Gitonga Mugambi will be the new PS in- charge of the Forestry from Water, where he was PS Irrigation.
The mega shakes up come just hours after President William Ruto a one- on- one engagements with journalists in State House vowed to clean Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA).
The Head of State then fired Health PS Josephine Mburu over the alleged impropriety of Ksh3. 7 billion anti- mosquito nets scandal attracting global attention.
