Raila Odinga's Statement On The Rise Of Fuel Prices Causes Mixed Reactions As Murkomen Responds This

For the last few hours, Kenyans and other various political leaders have vowed to launch attacks on the government over the latest move that saw prices of fuel rising. The Energy and Petroleum Authority announced new fuel prices that will take effect immediately.

On Thursday evening, Orange Democratic Movement party leader Raila Odinga took to his official Twitter account to talk about this unpopular move by President Uhuru Kenyatta's administration.

He said that Kenyans who have been struggling to put food on the table since the onset of the pandemic now stand to have their collective plight worsened by the increased fuel prices. "The prices should be lowered immediately to cushion the ordinary Wanainchi," his tweet read.

These remarks by the former Prime Minister elicited mixed reactions, as netizens stormed the comments section to engage themselves in this discussion. Elgeyo Marakwet senator, Kipchumba Murkomen, commented by posting a file footage dated 2018, when Raila and his ODM party team agreed a bill from the government that saw proposed the rising fuel prices.
