Okoth Obado is a Kenyan politician from Migori County in the Lake Side region of Kenya. He is the immediate retired incumbent Governor for Migori County. He was first elected in office during the 2013 general elections and subsequently re-elected again during the hotly contested 2017 general elections to serve his second and final term in office as per the 2010 Kenyan Constitution. Hon Okoth Obado vowed to work with President Dr William Samoei Arap Ruto.
President Ruto has a sigh of relief after the former Migori County Governor Okoth Obado delivered a chilling message to the Orange Democratic Movement party leader Hon Raila Amolo Odinga. According to The Star Kenya, the vocal politician said that the Luo Nyanza will not support Hon Raila Amolo Odinga's mass action that he has called to deliberate the way forward for Kenyans. President Ruto knows pretty well that this mass actions will slow down his efforts to unite Kenyans and also work on the dying economy of the nation.
