"Junet and Sifuna Should Just Resign" Wanjigi's Team Make Fresh Demands to ODM Party

Junet Mohammed.

Utterances made by Suna East member of parliament, Junet Mohammed, have continued to attract reactions from all over the country. Various politicians as well as Kenyans have come out to share their views concerning the same.

Junet told Nyamira residents that Raila's government will be for the people of Nyanza. The controversial MP went ahead to say that people like CS Mutahi Kagwe will be visitors in the government. He noted that Mt Kenya has held power for the last 20 years.

Jimi Wanjigi who is also a member of the Orange Democratic Movement party has come out to react to this statement. Through his campaign team leader, Steve Mbogo, Wanjigi's faction has demanded for the resignation of Junet Mohammed.

"These funny characters like Junet Mohammed should just resign. You can't keep giving us hard time to sell ODM party especially from the region where we come from. We have been asking for party delegate elections so that we can do away with these characters. The other day Junet planned for Wanjigi's motorcade to be stoned in Migori. Now the whole country has seen what kind of a character he is," said Mbogo.

The team also called for the resignation of the party's secretary general, Edwin Sifuna, over a statement he made in Kamukunji some few weeks ago.

"To the secretary general, you can't tell the president to end curfew so that the youth can go and drink alcohol. The youth need jobs not kupiga sherehe. That's why we are supporting Jimi Wanjigi because he is the serious candidate who can bring economic revolution," added Mbogo.

These demands are expected to raise the temperatures within ODM party. Junet Mohammed has on his side replied and said that the statement he made in Nyamira was just a joke and Kenyans should not be carried away by it.
