When it comes to issues relating to the One Kenya Alliance (OKA), the Amani National Congress ANC party has been a discussion point for some time now. ANC has five parties namely; ANC, Wiper Democratic Movement, Ford Kenya, KANU and United Democratic party (UDP), but amongst them all ANC has always been on the headlines. ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi is one of the favourites to fly OKA flag in the presidential race. Recently, Hon Mudavadi told his supporters to tune in to their television and radio stations on 23rd of this month and listen to his major announcement that will shake the presidential elections race. After analyzing,I have settled for three alternatives one of which Hon Mudavadi will settle for come Sunday.First, reports have shown that the technical committee tasked to choose the flag bearer for the alliance prefers Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka to be the coalitions presidential candidate instead of Hon Mudavadi. This has seen a section of the ANC leaders led by Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala resist this move stating that Mudavadi is more popular and experienced than Kalonzo and cannot deputize him. Therefore, if Hon Mudavadi insists on going for the top seat then the first option he has quit OKA and go for the presidency using another ticket. So come Sunday, one thing people can expect is that Hon Mudavadi and ANC can officially ditch OKA to join another political alignment that will have him as the presidential candidate.
For most people, the 2022 elections race is between two big politicians i.e Deputy President (DP) William Ruto and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga. Therefore, the second and third option Hon Mudavadi has is to join either of the two. For a long time now, ANC has been linked to working with United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and this is one thins that Hon Mudavadi can confirm on Sunday. The major announcement can be that ANC and UDA will work together with DP Ruto as the flag bearer and Hon Mudavadi as the running mate or the vice versa as Senator Malala puts it.Lastly, ODM leader Raila and Mudavadi worked together in 2017 and nothing blocks them from doing that come August. This is the last option Hon Mudavadi has judging by how fierce his allies have been when it comes to working or joining Azimio la Umoja Movement Coalition (ALUMC). As we wait for the major announcement, we can reason with the three options because it is likely to be one of them.
