The Deputy President's conversations with former NASA Principals are in high gear as part of his last-minute calculations to grasp the ground ahead of 2022. This is the most recent development in Ruto's tireless pursuit of his State House ambitions.
According to reports, the DP has already bagged one of the former NASA Principals, with operations underway to bag the other.
According to the Standard, a source close to Ruto has stated that the arrangement to bring the two Principals together could be announced in December or January of next year.
In addition, if Ruto wins, the Dp stands to gain a lot from an apparent pre-election pact with President Uhuru, which might see him appoint several Cabinet Secretaries.
The publication quoted Ine of the member of parliament has said that there is a drive for a pre-election agreement before the August elections, and the talks are progressing. The pact could alter political alignments; let's give the negotiations time; things will become apparent with time.
